South Sudan Female Journalists Network calls on civil society organizations, lawyers and media practitioners to advance and promote women’s representation and participation in all areas.

The Network in its two-day workshop in Juba identified some barriers for women’s participation.

One of the barriers which affect women’s participation is lack of education, inequality of income distribution and gender equality among others.

They said roundtable discussion is also the most important things for women to participate which can be down through Radio talk shows.

They civil society organizations, lawyers and journalists should raise their voices for the 35% affirmative action because it is not being fully implemented.

Chairperson of FJN, Irene Ayaa said “it is the roles of the media, civil society and lawyers to raise the voices of women down to grassroots”.

She regretted sexual exploitation and abuse which affect women and their unacceptable behaviors and prohibited conducts.
