Association of Consecrated Women in Eastern and Central Africa or ACWECA 18th plenary assembly started on Monday, 23, August in Nairobi, Kenya under the theme: “Reawaken the prophetic role”.

The assembly, that began with Holy mass in the morning, brought together 220 sisters across the world.

Fr. Stephen Omondi urges participants to be role models for the nation and bring the people of God together.

“In this plenary season therefore, let us be having good hearts to become the role models as our words of responsorial psalm today, the Lord takes the light in his people, we human beings take the light in people who do what is right, God also takes the light on few persons who do what is right”, he notes.

Fr. Omondi advises them to do everything with the true spirit of sacrifice, love, endurance and faithfulness.

He quotes St. Paul in the Bible saying “you know what you were among you before as they are people of God; they should know what they are in their different communities”.

The 18th plenary assembly is expected to end on Friday with Holy mass presided over by Archbishop Bert Van Megan, Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and South Sudan in Nairobi, Kenya.
