A civil society activist is calling on the government of South Sudan to move forward in the development of a permanent constitution.
Executive Director of Foundation for Democracy and Accountable Governance, Jame David Kolok, explains that it is important for the country to develop its constitution because the current one is transitional.
He clarifies that the 2018 agreement stipulates making of a constitution that is owned by all South Sudanese.
The activist regrets that the process of making the current constitution was not inclusive because many people were not consulted.
He reiterates that it is the right time for citizens to be part of the constitution making process as stipulated in the agreement.
The Executive Director encourages South Sudanese to make a constitution that represents everybody.
He appeals for consideration of people in hard to reach areas, especially those in the rural areas to get their views.
