Advocacy campaign on environment conservation began in Yei River County of Central Equatoria state. Radio Easter reported that the campaign organized by RELIC investment, YAMORA organization and Forests Conservers Association aims at restoring the eco-system.

The campaign started on Monday with planting of 2,000 tree-seedlings, collection of garbage in public places and weed pulling along streams, Rivers and other water bodies.

Forests Conservers Association program manager Batali Oliver Satimon urged those cutting down trees to consult with community leaders to avoid social problems and environmental degradation.

Oliver appealed to the government to enact policies concerning illegal logging as some individuals seriously disobey and continue to cut down trees.
