Some learners in Kimotong Primary School Budi County of Eastern Equatoria State regret the impact of Covid-19 that affected them.

Hellen Nachoroi Lopem told Radio Emmanuel that if it were not of Covid-19, she would have been in Primary Five, but the pandemic has taken her back.
She expressed unhappiness at the time when schools were shut down because it made her idle at home.

“I was not happy when the school was closed because of the disease called corona virus and I did not see a person sick with corona virus. The school were just closed for nothing and I hoped if the schools were to continue since that time, I would have been in primary five”, she complains.

Mathew Loriang Loreng, a primary four pupil states that since schools were officially opened, some pupil’s behaviour have changed; they have bad conducts in school.

He adds that the turn up of teachers is low compared to previous years.

Kimotong Primary School head teacher James Lokwangan says he was not able to interact with his pupils and colleagues as learning became challenging especially when schools were closed down.

Lokwangan reiterates that because of covid-19, school going children especially the girls got pregnant and boys involved themselves in alcoholism because of redundancy while they were home.

He says the level of concentration of the pupils in class is low because many of them forgot what they were taught before schools were closed down.
