Director-General for information and Compliance in the Media Authority Saphana Abuyi expresses commitment to save journalists from harassment

He says journalists especially females face a lot of harassments both online and physically, Radio Bakhita reported.

He commits to fight for media freedoms in the country in order to create an environment suitable for free flow of information.

Abuyi warns security apparatuses censoring or removing news articles from printing presses to end the act or be ready to account for their unlawful acts.

In several occasions since the formation of South Sudan’s Media Authority, media outlets have accused the authority for siding with the government on issues that affect the media practitioners.
