Chairperson of the South Supreme Airline Ayii Duang Ayii denied collecting, 4.1 million US Dollars from oil money as reported by the Audit Chamber of South Sudan.
Radio Bakhita quoted him revealing that the money paid to his company through the National Ministry of Finance was an imbursement for an accomplished business with the Ministry of Defence.
Duang says money belonged to South Supreme Airline but not oil money
The chairperson explains that money that his company took was his own civil rights not in any way connected to either three percent or two percent of the oil revenue.
South Sudan Audit Chamber released its 2021 audit report in March.
The report listed individuals, companies and organizations that took advantage of the five percent of the oil revenue meant for oil producing states and communities
Ayi Duang responded to calls for justice to victims of his plane that crashed, saying if there is a case supposed to be registered, the complainants should sue the company that manufactures the aircrafts.
He adds that the South Supreme can only be accused if the plane failed to reach the passengers to their rightful destination.
The Airlines boss says his plane successfully reached to the destined location, but only crushed while heading to an unknown location.
Ayii says he should not be blamed for the failure of the pilot.
President issued an order suspending the South Sudan Supreme Airline from operating following the March 2021 crash at Pieri airport in Jonglei.
