The Torit Women Football Team drew with the Juba Women Football Team one to one in the South Sudan League tournament on Saturday in Torit.

Juba Women Assistant Captain Esther Louis appreciated their struggle in the game despite some challenges they noted.

“It has been wonderful but sometime also not all that because  there are some other challenges that we got from here but that one doesn’t matter because being a footballer or being in sport you can go anywhere and play in different situation whereby you will get some challenges, first of all because of the ground we are not use to the ground where we were playing and also here the weather we are not all that use to and there are also a lot of things, we are still new here, it is our first time to be here but anyway what I will just say we are so glad that we have play, it has been a fair play, our aim is just to play football and to promote peace, so we came here to play and we will go back’’, she said.

Esther says her team is hopeful and they are aiming to move higher in the next game they will play.

She encourages the citizens to promote women participation in games.

“For us we just play a football for peace, and also we have a great aim whereby we will receive a lot of things, is not only playing the league or competing but we have a great aim of may be going forward and going higher, so our games we are going to focus a lot in the next game then we will also at least the mistake that may be happened, then we will make it, that is how we are going to correct it and also at least we try to turn up from the performance that we did today, this is not our performance, this is not even how we play our games, but because of weather condition or the field we are not use to, my message is that, only they need to keep on promoting this women football, they need to always promote women from playing, so that they can also be at least to the next level, need to support’’, she vowed.

Tito David, Assistant coach of Juba women team expressed that the match was really played well in the first half, but it changed in the second half.

“The match in first half was good but the second round was not all that fine any way in football you can win, lose or draw I cannot say much on that, we are going to encourage players to play and think for the upcoming match with Wau women Fc in Juba we shall just advise them because football has got suffering as it has happened in this match, we cannot blame anybody”, he said.

Emmy Lasu, playing number 10 for Juba women team scored the first goal at 47 minutes during the second half.

Meanwhile the draw goal was scored by Jenifer Africa wearing number 14 playing for Torit Women team at 94 minutes.
