A workshop on natural medicine was lauded by the participants for its relevance and practicality.

Rumbek Diocese Healing of the Healers conducted a two-day workshop on the use of plants in natural medicine in collaboration with Across.

Rosa Nyidier told Good News Radio that the training was useful, stating that the medicinal plants are available in her area including pawpaw, nim, and mango tree leaves.

She appreciated the training and promised to share what she learned with other members of the community.

Another participant called Moses Thon Mading said he learned how to use different parts of plants like roots, leaves, and bark as medicine.

He added that he was proud to know what plants can be used to treat diarrhoea and malaria.

The workshop aimed at introducing the participants to natural medicine complementing modern treatment.

Natural medicine can be very helpful in South Sudan where, due to underdevelopment, people have to walk long distances to access health facilities.
