The Government of Lakes State is disposing of some of its old vehicles through a public auction slated for Friday.
Mabor Kau Akec from the Finance Ministry told Good News Radio that there are six cars and three motorbikes for public sale.He added that the auction comes after the ministry realised that the maintenance of the vehicles was expensive and their value depreciated.
Mr. Mabor explained the vehicles are still roadworthy, and the alternative would be either to burn or bury them.
Mr. Mabor revealed that government officials will have priority during the Friday auction, but the exercise will be competitive.
He also said that the committee coordinating the auction has come up with a start-price for each vehicle.
