GoSS minister for Roads and Transport said South Sudan is going to be connected with Ethiopia through two highways.

Anthony Lino Makana said during the official launch of Juba-Nimule road asphalting that his government plans to link southern Sudan with Ethiopia through Malakal and Buma, Bakhita Radio reported.

Mr. Lino revealed that GoSS is looking for funds to tarmac all the highways connecting Juba with the other states in the South.

Mr. Lino announced that Japan is financing the construction of a new bridge over the White Nile River in Juba this year.

Mr. Lino said the only bridge connecting Juba with the East bank runs the risk of collapse at any moment.

The bridged was renovated a few years ago after one of its traffic channels bent under a heavy lorry.
