The president of the government of south Sudan yesterday launched the f Juba-Nimule road asphalt works.
The highway is the main supply root for South Sudan and the most efficient link to the port of Mombasa in Kenya.Salva Kiir Mayardit said the Juba-Nimule road’s tarmacking represented a great achievement for South Sudan.
Mr. Kiir assured that his government would link Juba to other states to complete the connectivity of the people of south Sudan.
The president urged people to stand up and work hard towards self-sufficiency.
Mr. Kiir explained that road connections across the region would accelerate development of south Sudan.
The asphalt of the 192 kilometer-long Juba-Nimule road is expected be completed by February 2012 and costs 225 million US dollars totally funded by USAID.
