Immanuel kindergarten trains school girls on reproductive health

Immanuel Kindergarten of the Episcopal Diocese of Yei organized awareness training on reproductive health, social issues and life skills for school girls in Yei.
 
The training aims at addressing school dropouts due to pregnancy at this difficult time where all students are at home due to COVID-19 pandemic.
 
The school head teacher Malish Simon explains that the training targets 150 school girls and boys and has different phases.
 
Yei River County Education director Emmanuel Sebit Peter appreciates the Church for this initiative because many girls may not continue their studies due to pregnancies.
 
He encourages the participants be ambassadors and share this knowledge with their peers who did not attend the training.
 
Diocesan Secretary of the Episcopal diocese Luate David expects the students to stay safe from early or unwanted pregnancy.
 
He mentions involvement of schools girls in sexual behaviours may lead to sexually transmitted infections.
 
The speakers made the remarks during the opening of the training at Immanuel Kindergarten in Yei.
