UNMISS team leader in Yei River County is demanding for representation of youths in the implementation of peace agreement in South Sudan.

James Mugo says young people’s participation in the new government is very important for peace to reign in the country.

He encourages youth to have advocacy and strategic plans to ensure their issues are integrated into the peace agreement.

Mugo’s concerns are many young people engage themselves in mediating peace and reconciliation in the community.

‘I am looking forward to see the recommendation and see how as UNMISS we can work closely with youth especially in Central Equatoria region where I have the capacity to work with them’, says the UNMISS team leader.

The speaker was talking during two days forum on strengthening dialogue for peace and reconciliation in South Sudan organized by Whitaker peace and development initiative in Yei.
