Whitaker Peace and Development calls for respect to freedom of press

The Program Manager of Whitaker Peace and Development Initiative is calling for respect to freedom of press and journalists in the country.
 
Bush Buse says Journalists must be respected, supported and be given a conducive environment of work to exercise their duties, Radio Easter reports.
 
He adds that media personnel are disseminating credible information to citizens, urging civil society organizations and the government to support them.
 
The Program Manager advises Journalists to follow their ethics, by balancing and researching conflict sensitive stories and report accurately.
 
Victor Justoson Yoasa is the Executive Director of Yamora, representing Yei civil society organization forum. He says they came together to advocate on behalf of the people.
 
The speakers made the remarks during the opening session of Whitaker Peace and Development Initiative in Yei.
