The University of Juba said it is switching to electronic and distance learning due to disruptions brought by the covid-19 pandemic.
Vice Chancellor John Akec said in his Face book page that the decision was reached during the University’s senate meeting on last Friday, Bakhita Radio reported.
Under the new arrangements, postgraduate and diploma classes will commence on 31st August and diploma students will only be given take home exam.
Akec said the decision was taken after the national covid-19 taskforce delayed to approve face to face learning the university had earlier proposed.
The University said it is building an electronic learning portal for students.
Schools and religious institutions were closed across the country in March as a preventive measure against the covid-19 pandemic.
