US Ambassador in South Sudan Thomas Hushek,  and Jean-Philippe Chauzy, Chief of Mission International Organization for Migration or IOM are expected to inaugurate a hand washing station in Konyo Konyo Market in Juba on Wednesday.

In statement CRN got on Monday said the station is part of the United States Agency for International Development or USAID support to the people of South Sudan at risk of contracting COVID-19.

It explained that IOM is currently working to improve access to affordable water, sanitation and hygiene services to communities more at risk of being infected by COVID-19 in densely populated urban and peri-urban areas of Juba.

The facility is in recognition of the limited access to reliable water supply and hand washing facilities at crowded areas, such as public markets.

IOM has recently concluded the construction of station of 1,000 litres at Konyo Konyo Market, complemented by training to the hand washing station team that will ensure its daily operation and maintenance.
