The national Ministry of Health on Wednesday received more personal protective equipment from China to help in the fight against COVID-19.
The medical supplies consisting of 18,000 facemasks and 120 thermometers were donated by the First Lady of China, Peng Liyuan to her South Sudanese counterpart Mary Ayen Mayardit, Bakhita Radio reported.
Undersecretary in the ministry Mayen Machut Achiek said the medical supplies will boost protection and safety of frontline health workers across the country.
Chinese ambassador to South Sudan, Hua Ning, said his country will continue to support South Sudan in the battle against coronavirus pandemic.
South Sudan has confirmed 2,007 COVID-19 cases, 38 deaths and 279 recoveries as of June 30th.
