President Salva Kiir Mayardit formed a high-level committee to look into the inter-communal violence in Jonglei state and Pibor Administrative Area.
Kiir issued a Republican order on Tuesday, appointing Vice President for Economic Cluster James Wani Igga as head of the 13-memeber committee.
The committee is mandated to work with the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission or RRC and partners to coordinate and deliver relief assistance to the affected communities.
The team is tasked with investigating the root cause of the violence and come up with recommendations to put an end to the ongoing violence in greater Jonglei region.
The Committee is given 21-days to complete its work.
Greater Jonglei region has been experiencing continued inter-communal violence that has killed hundreds of people and displaced thousands.
