The United Nations children’s agency or UNICEF urged communities to stop violence against humanitarian workers leading the battle against covid-19.
Communication for Development Specialist, Mercy Kolok said frontline workers are facing violence while in duty.
She reported that the agency has reached 3.5 million people with information on how they can protect themselves and their families from the virus.
Kolok explained that the workers do not pose any threat of spreading COVID-19 while moving from house to house because they observe the preventive measures.
Communication for Development Specialist said UNICEF distributed risk communication materials written in different languages.
