The Inter-Governmental Authority on Development or IGAD has welcomed the agreement on allocation of states reached between President Salva Kiir and Vice President Riek Machar on Wednesday.
The IGAD secretariat tweeted on Friday that the new deal on state sharing was another major step forward in peace building since formation of the transitional government in February.
IGAD Executive Secretary, Workneh Gebeyehu congratulated President Kiir, First Vice President Machar and all leaders for their commitment to lasting peace.
