The Government and the Opposition leaders to the Revitalized Peace Agreement of South Sudan or R-ARCSS have agreed on the allocation of states.

Disagreement over the allocation of states by peace parties has been the major issue delaying the full establishment of a coalition government.

Minister in the office of the president Nhial Deng Nhial says the government will appoint governors to six states, three for SPLM-IO and South Sudan Opposition allegiance or SSOA will appoint for one state.

He adds that each party is expected to appoint state governors according to the allocations.

Last month, Sudan People’s Liberation Movement and SPLA/M-IO rejected a decision by President Salva Kiir to allocate states to former warring parties.
