Workers’ Union of the University of Bahr el Ghazal called on the government to release the arrears of the civil servants in order to maintain the standard of living, especially at this time of coronavirus pandemic.
They said they received their money in November last year, and are relying on their different sources, but now the coronavirus has affected everything.
Lecturer Bol Maker said civil servants are facing very difficult situation than the coronavirus the government is focusing on.
He called on the government to look into the civil servants’ salaries sooner than later.
Mario Lino Ambiliko questioned the government on what will happen to the future of their children if they spend six to seven months without their salaries.
He added that all civil servants are widely relying on the government and the authorities should not forget to release their salaries.
