Director-General in Western Bahr el Ghazal State Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare Ann Daniel Ali warned people against involving children in heavy works because it is considered as a child rights’ abuse.
She said heavy work may destroy education of the kids, creates health problems and children may learn bad behaviours.
The official explained that up to now the situation did not change and people are still misusing children in doing heavy works.
She adds that the economic crisis is one of the reasons letting the children do any kind of heavy work to get food.
The Director-General urged parents not to encourage their children to do heavy works which may destroy their future.
The official spoke to Voice of Hope Radio during World Child Day in Wau.
