University of Bahr el Ghazal workers’ Union calls on the government to release arrears of civil servants especially at this difficult time of coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to Voice of Hope radio Lecturer Bol Maker says they last received their salaries in November 2019.
He adds with the current situation, it is difficult to support families if they are not paid.
The lecturer calls on the government to urgently resolve the issue of salaries of civil servants.
Another civil servant Mario Lino Ambiliko questions how the future of their children will be as they stay for six to seven months without their salaries.
He adds civil servants rely on their salaries, the government should not forget about them.
South Sudan Civil Servant’s Act article 10 says Civil servants shall be entitled to salaries for their work.
