People need right information about corona virus, says manager

Program Manager of Yamorah organization Robert Guya Antipas on Thursday said citizens of Yei and the country at large need to be told the right information on corona virus in order to protect themselves and their communities from the virus.
 
He explained that their organization had engaged actively in the fight against the pandemic because of its spread, Radio Easter reported
 
Guya says they have been conducting road massive awareness and radio talk shows and distributions of face masks to vulnerable groups of people.
 
He disclosed that they also trained about 50 families of people with disabilities on producing local washing materials.
 
The manager noted that they extended the awareness campaign to areas in the outskirts of Yei after realizing the population need more information about the pandemic since some of them do not have access to the media.
 
He clarified that with support from UNMISS they were able to reach to nine rural areas including Kaya, Kupera, Morobo, Lasu, Ombasi, Logo and many other places to enlighten citizens on the virus.
 
Guya said they have trained women and produced over 2,500 face masks for people with disabilities.
 
Meanwhile Hamadi Samani, project officer for the department of people living with disabilities, confirmed the distribution of hand washing facilities to 50 people with hearing and vision impairment.
