UN Children agency or UNICEF on Thursday started conducting awareness training for teachers in Yei.
UNICEF Ebola and corona virus consultant Alex Jubek Santo told Radio Easter that the training is to orient teachers on covid-19.
The orientation targets 26 teachers divided into two phases with 13 trained on Thursday and others on Friday because of the corona virus guidelines of social distance, he explained.
Other objectives include equipping the teachers with knowledge in guiding and controlling rumours in the communities.
Jubek asked people to work together practicing behaviour change in order to support the break of the disease transmission to save life
Bingo Bokilo Francis, head teacher of Yei Day Secondary School, on behalf of participants said the training has helped clear the misinformation about covid-19 in the societies.
He believes that the empowered teachers now have the knowledge to disseminate the preventive measures of corona virus to students and their communities.
The head teachers advised girls who are misinformed about corona virus never to listen to rumours that gives them take wrong decisions which will affect their future.
