Head teacher of Torit day secondary school says coronavirus forced many government teachers not to be paid for the last six month.
Speaking to Radio Emmanuel Valarie Afara Ohiri explains life has become unbearable to their families due to high market prices.
She adds it is now six months with no salary for government teachers in Torit.
‘Due to the lockdown everyone is vulnerable especially civil servants are now going on for numbers of month without salary. it becomes so difficult when you go to the market things are not easy with the schools closed and no salary things are completely difficult’
The head teacher calls on government to improve the education sectors budget in the country
‘Educating people is not a simple thing because when you find that ninety percent of the country is illiterate it is a very big challenge. The government should allocate a good percentage of the budget for Education to improve payment and facilities in schools.’
