Government reports high rate of teenage pregnancies during school closer

The national Ministry of General Education raised concern over increased teenage pregnancies during the shutdown of schools to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in South Sudan.
 
Deputy Minister of General Education, Martin Tako Moyi told journalists in Juba that over twenty girls have reportedly been impregnated.
 
Tako vowed to pursue the perpetrators of child pregnancies to face the law to show example to the rest.
 
Schools all over the country have been closed down since March as a measure to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
