An opposition leader resigned from the Constitution Review Committee set up by GoSS President last week.

Gabriel Changson Chang leads the United Democratic Salvation Front Main Stream and serves as GoSS minister for Youth and Culture. He told SCR News that he quitted the committee because he was there an economist and not as party representative.

He added he could not represent the opposition in the Committee because he did not have a mandate.

Mr. Changson said the Constitution is a political statement agreed upon by all the parts concerned.

He added that political parties, civil society and faith based organization should take part in drafting the Constitution so that it becomes inclusive.

Sudan Tribune website reported today that president Kiir accepted the participation of political parties, civil society and faith based organization to take part in the constitution review committee.
