The South Sudan Football Association SSFA has cancelled the 2020 Premier league football season due to COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Radio Bakhita, the SSFA board of directors convened an emergency meeting on Wednesday and decided to end this year’s premier league season without a champion.
The SSFA also cancelled all local leagues across the country with no demotion or promotion of teams from different levels of the league.
The Association says in a statement the cancellation of the season will remain until further notice.
South Sudan suspended all football activities in March as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.
This year’s African Champion League remains suspended because of novel coronavirus fears.
