First Vice President and his wife test Covid-19 positive

The First Vice President Dr Riek Machar Teny has confirmed that he and his wife minister of Defence Angelina Teny have tested Covid-19 positive.
 
He disclosed on Monday that one of their colleagues contracted the virus and spreads to other members.
 
“I want to declare that I have been found positive and shall self-quarantine at my residence until released by doctors’, Dr Machar announced over SSBC, national television.
 
Dr Machar said other numerous members of the committee were also found positive.
 
He explained that ‘we are still awaiting other tests and hopefully tomorrow we will have the full list of positive cases among the Taskforce’.
 
The deputy head of the taskforce said many of the members who are positive are in a good health.
 
“All the guards who are staying with us in the residence will also be tested and the good number of them that have been found positive will be telling them”, he added.
 
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Dr Makur Matur Koryom said the 57 new cases confirmed on Monday bring the total of the positive people to 347 patients.
 
The deaths are five with four recoveries, he added.
 
The list of the positive patients of the taskforce will be handed to their deputy chair on Tuesday.
 
The patients would be quarantined for 14-day according to the ministry of health.
