The Catholic Archbishop of Juba Stephen Martin Mulla cautioned South Sudanese against taking covid-19 into granted.

He called on the different taskforce committees that are formed in the country to work together to save people’s lives.

‘This pandemic is there present. Let us not take it easy. It is a reality and is a silent killer. It is killing man people, young and old people. So with this silent killer, we need all of us to work together from the highest taskforce that we have in the country, to the lowest taskforce that we have in the country. We must come together, to save humanity from this destructive sickness’, Archbishop Ameyu appealed.

The Metropolitan Archbishop urged people to pray for God’s intervention to take Covid-19 away.

He clarified that the virus is not only for Chinese or rich countries, but it’s affecting the whole world.

SSCBS Health Coordinator Dr Thomas Tongun Leone urged the government t to provide people with protective equipment.

‘At the level of airiness, the leaders are doing because in every station, every place, all the leaders talking about covid-19, but what is lacking is the practical part now. Because you talk of preventive measures: washing hands frequently, or having personal protective equipment, yet you don’t provide the people with these personal protective equipments. So this is what is lacking now. At the moment we need to come down as leaders to provide to people the personal protective equipment so that at least they have them then they can protect themselves from it’, said the Health coordinator.

He advised people to follow all preventive measures to protect them from the virus.
