South Sudan People’s Defence Force Division Five at Girinti Barrack in Western Bahr el Ghazal State joined the rest of the national army to commemorates 37th anniversary
Major General Abraham Gum says that the anniversary of the revolutionary day of Sudan People Liberation Army ‘SPLA’ is important because it reflects the history to the coming generation, Voice of Hope Radio reported.
He said SPLA day recalls the martyrs who fought and died for the independence of the country.
Major General Gum urged all organized forces in the state to celebrate peacefully without shooting guns.
The commander disclosed that in the upcoming days the forces at the training centres will be unified to be one body that will serve the people and the country.
South Sudan People’s Defence Force annually celebrates the revolutionary day on May 16 and this is the 37th anniversary celebration.
The SPLA celebrates and ten anniversaries after South Sudan became an independent country in 2011.
