SSCC urges citizens to commit to the fight against COVID-19

South Sudan Council of Churches or SSCC says the country can only contain the pandemic if every citizen makes a personal commitment against the virus.
 
While addressing journalists SSCC chairperson bishop Arkangelo Wani Lemi calls on people of South Sudan to follow the preventive measures because the disease is real.
 
The bishop adds the mandate of SSCC taskforce on COVID-19 is to ensure accurate information in line with the preventive measures of COVID-19 is shared with the citizens.
 
The chairperson appeals to citizens, religious leaders, media houses, civil society, and community leaders to inform others wherever they are to adhere to the directives.
 
Bishop Arkangelo mentions the national high level taskforce must effectively speed up the system and ensure transparent and accountable utilization of resources to fight the disease.
 
The South Sudan Council of Churches or SSCC formed the taskforce on April 27th, 2020 to carry out awareness about the disease to people at grassroots. 
 
The Chairperson of SSCC made the remarks to journalist on Wednesday in Juba.
