The government of the defunct Yei State has established a state taskforce committee for covid-19.
The 22-member committee is chaired by the state administrator Amule Felix Sosthene and deputized by Police Commissioner, Yoasa Lujang Kamba, Radio Easter reported.
Director-General in the defunct ministry of health Dr. James Wani Tom became the spokesperson.
World Health Organization representative in the defunct state occupied the position of secretary.
The committee is tasked to monitor and report the level of spread and preparedness on corona virus in Yei River region.
It provides accurate information on covid-19 for the actors to disseminate the same to the general public.
Others objectives includes mobilization of resources, support the state awareness and preparedness efforts in preventing the entrance and spread of covid-19 in Yei.
They are also tasked with developing plans for managing the corona virus preparedness prevention and trauma associated effects on the pandemic and management of the associated requirements of the disease to plan budget coordinate and report.
