Northern Catholic communities are closing due to the massive exodus of Southerners leaving North Sudan.
Seminarian Elario Zambakari told SCR News via e-mail that some catholic schools and parishes closed because the faithful returned to South Sudan.He said most of the Christians in Khartoum and El Obeid dioceses were southerners and Sunday attendance dropped sharply.
Fr. George Gangara, the education secretary of the archdiocese of Khartoum, added that some of the Catholic schools are already closed because the students have gone back to the south.
