The inter-communal conflict between cattle-keepers and farmers in Wau continues despite the signed Marial-bai Agreement.

According to Executive Director of former Tonj county Marko Mabior Ajiech, says a group of armed youth attacked a village raided cattle and killed people.

He adds the same youth attacked another village around Tonj town and looted goats.

Ajiech stresses they are working together with the government of defunct Wau state to ensure the two communities live in peace.

The executive director encourages young people from both sides to stop fighting and focus on agriculture.

Mapel’s youth leader Joseph Ungom says the youth retaliated because their properties were looted.

He adds people were killed and thousands displaced from their villages and currently they are starving.

The speakers talked to Donbosco radio on Wednesday in Tonj.
