The spokesperson of South Sudan’s minister of health says the country lacks isolation centres to accommodate corona virus patients.

Dr Thuou Loi adds currently patients are still being quarantine in their own homes as the government look for ways to increase the number of public isolation centres.

He explains few people are admitted at John Garang Infection Disease Unit but it’s not enough as the number of confirmed cases keep rising.

Dr. Loi says only three patients are in government facility and the rest are at their homes.

The spokesperson stresses the public centres are under renovation and soon all patients will be kept in one place for observation.

South Sudan has 35 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.
