Catholic Bishop of Yei Diocese Erkolano Lodu Tombe on Sunday blamed the army command for causing displacement and killing people despite peace in the country.

He said described displacement and killing as a wound to the people of Yei, but that it is Covid-19 which is new, Radio Easter reported.

The Catholic Church leader in Yei said it is a blunder for soldiers to move around killing and displacing people.

The Bishop appealed to the soldiers to disobey the orders of their commanders if they are commanded to do something morally wrong.

He pointed out that soldiers are human beings who have consent of knowing what is morally good or bad.

Bishop Lodu said soldiers have the right to refuse and disobey the orders of killing and destroying people while the corona virus pandemic is imminent within the people.

The Catholic prelate encouraged Christians to continue praying for peace in the country for the pandemic to go away from South Sudan.
