Torit citizens still feed on food from local people, says Executive Director

Citizens in Torit County of Eastern Equatoria State still feed on food brought from the nearby villages, confirms Solomon Ochuho, Executive Director of Torit County.
 
He tells Radio Emmanuel that most local food items in Torit comes from the sides of Ifuotu, Hillieu and Loudo villages.
 
‘There are things coming from the villages like food coming from Ifotu and Hillieu and Loudo sides. They are also bring things to the market and they are not staying in a very large group they all respect because there are things that are brought to the market and they are not staying in one place even place that people were gathering in social places have been stop so people really respect’, Ochuho explained.
 
The Executive Director confirms that security situation in Torit County is normal apart from some isolated cases of robbery that occurred last week.
 
He advises the population to observe corona virus preventive measures seriously even during their cultivation work.
 
Ochuho says farmers should observe social distancing as they work in groups.
 
‘The security situation is also normal in Torit County with exception of there were some people who wanted to bring some food items to the market, but there were some three men last week they came between Himodonge and Torit technical they rob but these are few people when the youth followed their foot marks they were identified as robbers, These are people trying to feed on peoples properties otherwise the security situation is normal and now people are preparing for cultivation and now we advise them that if they are digging in groups they have to stay one meter away from one another’, he explains.
