High taskforce committee on coronavirus of Western Bahr el Ghazal State visited Protection of Civilians’ sites or POCs to enlighten IDPs on the dangers of COVID 19.
They advised IDPs that it is important for them to get back home to prevent their families, Voice of Hope Radio reported.
IDPs representative, Julia Edward told the visitors a number of challenges that have stopped them from going back to their areas.
She called on the government and humanitarian agencies to assist them because they don’t have houses and have lost all their belongings during the conflicts in the past years.
Director-General in the State Ministry of Health, Dr. James Ambrose Ucin urged IDPs leaders to contribute in enlightening their colleagues at the camps on the dangers of the disease.
He said the most important thing is for the displaced people to go back to their homes and the humanitarian organizations help them in their places.
This was the first visit of the committee to UN camp to aware and encourage them to return home to avoid spread of the virus within them.
