Agricultural advisor at the state Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Western Bhar El Ghazal during Saut El Sabah program calls on farmers to practice modern farming methods.
Sebit Ibrahim Fodul says farmers should maintain basic farming practices like selection of fertile land, seed variety, pest control and application of fertilizers in order to get good quality produce, Voice of Hope radio reports.
Ibrahim encourages farmers to use large scale farming and farm record to calculate production cost.
The official stresses if agriculture is carried out in large scale, it can impact the economy and the produce can be exported to neighbouring countries.
He advises farmers to prepare their land and cultivate early because of climate change.
The official made the remarks to Voice of Hope Radio on Wednesday during Saut El Sabah program.
