Director-General in the Ministry of Information, Western Bahr-El-Ghazal State of South Sudan has responded that the ministry will provide some safety tools to ensure that journalists in Wau are protected.
David John Jongo promised to raise the call of Union of Journalists of South Sudan on COVID-19 safety kits, in the second meeting of the state taskforce committee.
John pointed out that the state ministry is collaborating with the national high taskforce committee to ensure quick response so that the safety kits reach the journalists.
The Director-General encouraged media personnel to continue disseminating information about coronavirus to the communities.
He added that ‘The ministry is working to organize a full training for the journalists in order to give them knowledge on the necessary preventive measures against the disease’.
The speaker was responding to the UJOSS call to state government to provide COVID-19 safety kits to all journalists.
