The administration of Catholic diocese of Wau is calling on Internally Displaced Persons living in church premises to leave due to corona virus outbreak in South Sudan.
Emergence coordinator for Caritas Wau office Fr. Moses Peter explains the IDPs are living in a congested area.
He adds due to the corona virus pandemic the diocese decided that it’s best to inform them to leave because it will be hard to contain the virus.
Fr. Peter clarifies that the church is not against people living in its premises but as a precautionary measure the church cannot encourage many people staying in such small place.
He urges all the IDPs having small business within the church premises to close by Thursday as agreed during their meeting.
The emergence coordinator advises people to practice social distancing, regular hand washing and follow directives from the ministry of health for their own safety.
