Prison director urges society to respect COVID-19 preventive measures

Acting director of Yambio Prison major Christopher Amos Tebia appealed to the people having their loved ones in the prison to follow directives that of World Health Organization and national the government.
 
Radio Anisa quoted him saying people should be washing hands with soap, not shaking hands, keeping distance among other things whenever they pay a visit to their loved ones in prison.
 
Tebia said the prison has provided some procedures to be followed by both the staff and prisoners including no crowding.
 
Some inmates said that they are following the measures given, but they are afraid because of the high number of prisoners.
 
In another news development, Director of Civil Aviation in Western Equatoria advised passengers to keep distance when boarding planes.
 
He said they should not sit close to one another in the plane to prevent coronavirus infection.
 
The director said they are screening passengers at Yambio airstrip whenever they arrive.
 
He complained that they are lacking equipments for coronavirus forcing them to use the ones for Ebola.
