Vulnerable people of Thiet Payam have started receiving their food since last week, said Santino Chol Garang Maluach, Acting Coordinator of Relief and Rehabilitation Commission for Tonj South County, Warrap State.
He said the distribution is taking place in two Payams of former Thiet County.
Garang explained that they are targeting different groups of families which are more vulnerable.
The Acting Coordinator disclosed that the other Payams which did not receive their food, will get soon. He added that the distribution delayed due to in security in the town and now the situation is normal.
Garang urged the IDPs to stay calm and give chance to the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission team and other NGOs to carry out their activities in the area.
He called on well-wishers and NGOs to assist the displaced people in Tonj.
The official appealed to the entire community of Tonj to refrain from senseless killing and advise their fellow people creating insecurity in the society.
The acting coordinator made his remark on Monday in Tonj.
