Vatican appoints Archbishop Ameyu Apostolic Administrator of Torit

Vatican authorities appointed the new Archbishop of Juba Stephen Ameyu martin Mulla to be the Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Torit.
 
Pope Francis’ decree said the apostolic administrator will work with full faculties for pastoral governance, until the appointment of new bishop to the vacant diocese.
 
Monsignor Mark Kadima revealed that the new bishop of Torit will be appointed in the near future to lead the faithful in diocese.
 
He advised Christians of Torit to mention Archbishop Stephen Ameyu during masses and other prayers.
 
Apostolic Nuncio to South Sudan Archbishop Hubertus Matheus Maria van Megen expressed impression to the people of Juba and South Sudan in their love for the Church and their faith in God.
 
He wished to be in Juba to participate in the occasion, but the Holy See kept him in Nairobi, Kenya due to corona virus.
