Parishioners of Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Chukudum on Sunday welcomed their new parish priest.
 
Fr. Anthony Ubeo Gilo is the new parish priest of Sacred Head of Jesus parish in Chukudum.
 
Before his appointment as a parish priest he was the education coordinator of the Catholic Diocese of Torit.
 
Speaking to Radio Emmanuel one of the parishioners Joseph Totowa appreciates the appointment of a priest to the parish.
 
‘The prayers today have been so nice, we are celebrated with our new parish priest, vicar general and also the Champlain of the youth. We are happy that we have a new priest’, he explains.
 
According to the Joseph, the presence of a priest in the parish will enhance Christians’ faith and develop the parish.
 
Meanwhile, the acting chairperson for youth Roman Loki Iko urges Christians to work with the new parish priest to develop the church.
 
The newly appointed parish priest Fr. Ubeo was accompanied by the Vicar general of Torit Catholic Diocese Fr. John Sebit and youth chaplain Fr. John Wajaras.
