The conflict that emerged between cattle keepers from Tonj and farmers from Wau led to the death of one person and wounding of three others, according to Marko Mabior Ajiec, Executive Director of former Tonj State.
He said the person died immediately and the three are receiving medication in Tonj Civil Hospital, Don Bosco Radio reported.
Mabior explained that the attack took place at a water point, where they exchanged fire.
John Chol Akot, one the members of Tri-State Peace Mediators in Marial Baai agreement said they are yet to find out the root causes of the fighting.
He wondered why the two groups fought because there was agreement signed by three states between cattle keepers and farmers.
Chol advised relatives of the decease to be calm as the government investigates the matter.
He urged the farmers and the cattle keepers to stay together as brothers and sisters and respect the Marial Baai agreement.
